Interior Design, week 3 – 22nd January, 2020, Wednesday.

(Ms. Shruti ma’am)

This class was very engaging because we were shown how spaces can be described in the form of poetry. Now this is something I’ve never even tried or heard of.

We started with discussing about The Act of Walking. How we can influence people where to walk.
People usually walk on lighter colours because darker colour looks like a piece of art, me being a victim of that couldn’t disagree. So this confirms that we can manipulate a person on what parts he/she should walk on.
People even change their pace on a particular ground.

Then ma’am showed us some poems describing a space, which were very interesting.

Now this is where we got introduced to our first assignment.
We were told to divide ourselves in the group of 4 or 5 and choose a space from the following –
1. The college library
2. Parking lot
3. underneath the bridge
4. Staircase to the train station
5. Food stalls
6. Fire escape staircase

I chose the space Parking lot. Now, we have to write a poem describing the space and covering as many attributes possible like the colour, smell and ambiance of that space.
Before leaving we all went to check out our respective places in groups and clicked a few pictures.
I am excited to show what poem I come up with, also because I love writing poems in general .
